Season’s Greetings, y’all!

By skepticlawyer

Having done the intellectual take on Christmas, I thought I’d better drop the pretentious Latin stuff a bit and entertain youse all. And what better way to do that than to introduce everyone to Jeff Foxworthy, a southern comedian whose affectionate pisstakes of redneck culture generally resonate pretty well for Australia’s bogan population. Much of the commentary directed at well-known Australian bogans is sneering and mean-spirited. Foxworthy spotted similar tendencies in the US, and proceeded to send the whole phenomenon up in style.

As Catallaxy’s Christmas YouTube, I’ve decided to share Jeff Foxworthy’s Redneck 12 Days of Christmas, which reminds me of a few Christmasses when I was a tacker (allowing for geographical differences and dog breeds, of course).

This doesn’t mean we’ve stopped posting over the summer break, just that things may get a little more lighthearted around these parts during the silly season. For my part, I intend to spend a fair bit of time concreted in front of the Boxing Day Test, catch up with friends and family, and generally relax.

From all of us here at Catallaxy, have a great Christmas, and a safe and prosperous New Year.

Three shotgun shells? Nowhere near enough for duck hunting. (Especially if you shoot like me.)

Most of that stuff would be an improvement though. Except no mention of chocolate.

Jeff Foxworthy cracks me up. Probably his best one ever is his skit about when he took his family to Hawaii.

Link is broken, Yobbo. Hope you’ve put it on your site!
