When we talk about the value of "Good Will" in business we segment our customers up into three groups.

Cats, Dogs and Rats.

Cats go with the premises. Dogs go with the owner and Rats go where the going is good.

The thing to be remembered is that the sale value of the goodwill comes from the Cats alone.

Darlene cats may be cute. But they have a tendency to value your house over you.

Actually that might be the same with human children nowadays.

Of course you must go through that grieving process.

But remember that Jack was a very very bad man.

He was really very bad.

That's okay, GMB. And you made me laugh, which is nice.

Dogs are hard work, needy, neurotic, err, just like blokes. No, we won't go there.

He was a lovely boy. Ginger and mushroom. Just three years of age.

I think cats are loyal, they are just more selective about who they give their loyalty to.

Anyway, different pets for different people so it's not really a debate.

Right.

Darlene, I should have been more careful.

It was really converted from something I was thinking about to try and show Jason that cats are more fascistic then dogs. Dogs are more house-slave wannabes. Or more appropriately they are loyal to their owner and merely annoying to others.

But cats are loyal to no-one. And they are cruel and sadistic: cutthroats, parasites and murderers. That's why women tend to be affectionate towards them ;)

But a dog is a true friend to his owner. No truer friend will he find. But he's going to piss everyone else off bigtime.

Oooo, a ginger with mushroom highlights. Very cute indeed. He didn't look very old, either.

Ummm, that makes me feel, err, better, GMB.

People do say that, skeptic, and they shouldn't because pets mean a hell of a lot.

Here's a link to a picture of Jack:

It's bad when animals die. And then you get some lame twit saying stuff like 'well, it was only a cat/dog/bird etc'.

Sometimes I want to deck people who say stuff like that.

That's very sad Darlene. But console yourself with this thought.

Jack was a very bad guy (ie cat).

He was really very bad.

I know you don't believe this but just consider this thought experiment.

Darlene and Jack are alone in the flat. Meanwhile I'm up in Gosford trying to teach Darlene economics by just focusing hard and sending the understanding COSMICALLY. It's not working at first so I smoke some dope (I'm no smoker. This is all hypothetical) and then try again and then I get paranoid. Because then I start thinking that what I might have done is by accident transfer Jack's mind into your body and your mind into Jack's.

So I start out to your place...

When I get there if my worst fears are confirmed - will Jack go on to be the great economist I wish I had been? Garnering publicity by the fact that Jack is a talking male cat with female human sensibilities? A sort of brainy cross-gender cat?

Or will I open the door and see you with an evil or dumb look on your face and with Jacks tail sticking out of your mouth???? And will I conclude that you subjected Jack (ie Jack subjected you) to a sadistic painfull and drawn-out death?

Jason:

Cats are fucking-facists.

We want to get that right for starters.

Sigh!! My cat or my housemate's cat was a lovely ginger pussy called Jack. He stayed indoors at night and was let out in the morning to do what he needed to do. He'd then come back for breakfast.

Apparently cats sleep 85% of the day. Lucky sods.

Anyway, Jack got hit by a car last Sunday before he could come back home for his brekkie. Turn your back for five seconds. He's certainly not the first cat on this street to meet such an end. The lack of traffic might create a false sense of security. Watching your housemate's pet die is awful (she was away at the time).

I first encounted Jack a couple of years ago, and it was just always there. He turned me from a cynic to a cat lover.

Sigh!!! Sigh!!! Sigh!!!
