Our Thick Sheik Comedy Comp is going great guns - so much so I’ve officially run out of room to add graphics to our call for entries page. Here’s another entry from gun Photoshopper Heath G.
Should also let you know that Kitty has also contributed an entry - a very nice riff on James Bond. It’s over the fold.
Keep the entries rollin’, folks!

Another classy entry. I’ve put it up here because Wordpress is starting to play silly buggers when I upload more graphics into the original post.
I should point out this is actually done in Paintshop Pro XI. Most of the useful stuff you’d want as a digital photgrapher… but without the Photoshop price tag!.
Mind you … Photoshop is THE indusrty standard editing suite and it speaks volumes for the power of the product and brand that people generically say “photoshop” now when they want a shorthand way of saying retouching or digital image editing. But there are altrnatives - and PaintShop pro is apretty darn good one.
I must admit my previous employer bought me the full Adobe suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign etc) while I was there. They hum along very nicely on my Mac 23″ quad G5.
I’m bloody glad I didn’t have to pay for them myself.
Do Britney, Paris and Lindsey die before Sam Jackson kills all the Hillalis?
You’ll need to ask Heath that one, Adrien! I’m sure he’ll be around later tonight.
I found somewhat amusing the idea of Hilaly as the ultimate ladies’ man… after all aren’t we women all supposed to prefer a bastard? (Oh and when we say no, we really mean yes.)
HeathG is a talented man in the photographic department. He should post more of his pics - those airshow ones were fab.
Did you see his volcano efforts? Those were amazing. I figure he must be up for a National Geographic gig sooner rather than later.
Indeed - is a career change in the offing?
[4] Adreien - who says he kills them? All the review says is he rids the plane of them. As for Paris and Co., maybe they get killed… or maybe the “bad thing” was they actually listened to Hilaly. (though I guess it’s a personal opionion on how much of a bad thing v good thing this is.)
Sl/CL:
Re: the photography thing. It’s a very competitive business and to earn top $$$’s in photography you need to be exceptionally good in one of the more commercially oriented disciplines (such as wedding photography) to make good money.
Re: National Geographic - I seem to recall them only having a very small number of photographers (<100???), which is a very small number considering the global talent pool they are drawing on.
The other factor influcning a career change of course is that I’m rewarded pretty well for the kinds of work I do now. I’m at a point where even changing industries is probably going to mean a pay cut since a fair bit of my worth at the moment is detailed ISP/telco specific market knowledge.
However I have contemplated cutting back my work hours to part time in order to have my time with family and also have another go at making some money from photography.
