Missing Link makes a comeback!

By skepticlawyer

Ken Parish discovered that the only way to do the Australian blogosphere justice was either (a) clone himself or (b) find some helpers. Since option (a) is a tad on the difficult side, he’s gone for option (b). I’m one of those helpers, and my first Missing Link post is over at Club Troppo now. If you want to get your fill of bloggy goodness, make sure you hop over there and check it out.

Crossposted from Club Troppo - and it took a while, too (even for me).

    Hell, Skeptic. You are incredible.

If there was a blog logie you’d have to be one of the hot favourites. ;)

Have to agree with mel here, SL (unfortunately). You’re pretty damn good. The best blog gal I ever met.

Seriously, stop wasting your time with boring law, get back to writing novels etc. You’re too good a writer to be wasting your time…. but not blogging by the way.

Thanks Steve & JC. To be fair I’ve worked as a subeditor, so I can do things like this fairly quickly. Even so, this represents about three hours of solid work. I haven’t eaten tea, I haven’t had a shower, and I’ve missed House - one of the few shows I watch.

From what I can hear from the living room, House was good but sad at the end.

Looks like everyone’s reading. That’s good - I’ll have that tub now ;)

Yea I watched it fats. Some idiot hit himself tripping on a rake and ended up dying from a hemorrhagic stroke tnat they couldn’t see on an MRI. House realized the guy was a total twat and figured out what he had done.

    Yep… sad, sad story.

Yes, very nice work, SL. Glad to see the baton picked up (and passed on in due course) - I’d have been very sorry to see Missing Link go, while fully understanding the demands on Ken’s time. You’ve done a great job and it’ll be interesting to see different perspectives in the picks and commentary.

Yet again Old Man Joey can’t help dogging my heels, even when I post on the surely-uncontroversial topic of TV shows.

That is the real sad, sad story.

When are you going to get a life, soon-to-cark-it Joe? You haven’t got much longer to enjoy it, you know. Your senility is already far advanced.

Enough with the snarks, JC & ff. I’m rawther pleased with this post and am happy I’ve been able to convince Jason to give it a bash once in a while, and hope that Mark can step in occasionally after June when his teaching commitments lighten up.

Ok, sorry, but I couldn’t help it. Just don’t take it too personally. Apologies if I upset you.

“Enough with the snarks, JC & ff.”

JC started it. JC always starts it. It’s a sickness.

“Ok, sorry, but I couldn’t help it.”

Yes, you could, but I understand that self-control is difficult at your age, witness the colostomy bag.

    “Apologies if I upset you.”

All you do is exasperate me. When you upset me, I’ll let you know.

And I take it that comment means ff has finished it, natch ;)

    Natch. ;-)
By the way, thanks for the Missing Link post. I found some interesting blog posts that would never have graced my screen otherwise.

I tried to track down interesting blogs that people hadn’t necessarily seen before, as well as drag out some old favourites. Bear in mind, too, that I had Ken’s google feed reader to work with, which really is a nice bit of technology. You can create your own news service with it - seriously.

Thanks Gary. I’ve got another Missing Link to do for Friday, so I’ll get onto it then. Also Graeme, you should check out ML - you may get a pleasant surprise!

    Good job, Ms Skeptic.

You have lifted the bar high (too high for some of us, but we can but try).

Friday’s effort is over there now, Darlene - and you’re featured, too!

Skepticlawyer, I followed the link to Adrienswords’ post, and it was mildly interesting. However, I couldn’t help but notice that you commented:

“ff and Birdy often have excellent entertainment value, but not much else I’m afraid”

when Adrien had been talking about Melaleuca and Bird, not me.

While I thank you for thinking I have entertainment value, I am a bit hurt that you don’t think I contribute much else. :-(
Unless it was just a slip of the fingers and you were actually talking about Mel?

  22. Posted February 9, 2007 at 7:47 pm | Permalink

Sorry, I thought it was you stoushing, but if it was Mel, I’ve engaged in a serious case of mistaken identity! Mind you, you and JC do get a run on at times, just like Birdy and Steve.

Yah, fair enough. JC’s developed a real chip on his shoulder recently. Maybe it’s just that time of the month. ;-)
