800px-linkin_park_-_summer_sonic_2006.jpgAlt-metal outfit Linkin Park have just released a new album, Minutes to Midnight, which is currently making merry Hell on the charts, particularly in the US and the UK. Rather than feature some of their new stuff, I thought I’d head back to 2002. This track - ‘Points of Authority’ - comes from their second album, Reanimation, and involves some very clever Halo-inspired CGI. It’s also a kick-arse song, with some great riffs.

See below the fold for the video.

Can you embed the vid for this Jason? For some reason it keeps going belly-up on me.

Okay so LP nick their riffs off Bach… but it’s a great riff. I like the version with strings, that would make a great sample or bassline.

Sorry Rob, sounds more like an Irish funeral, one where the deceased was the lucky one.

Modern Jazz quartet had a nice version too.
