Good idea. There are two UNSW people in my staircase who lurk on this blog, and one USyd guy... I'm thinking Summer VIIIs would be good, too. Brendan, Timothy and DEM are also in the UK.

Only thing is two of us are rowing for VIIIs, which could be awkward.

Maybe there should be a Catallaxy meet for those of us in the UK?

Next time everyone is in London we should have a pint.

...as always wiki to the rescue

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tab
"In British English, a term referring to Cambridge students, used primordially by members of Oxford University"

No. My student days are behind me. I just visit Cambridge because my parents live there.

Is there slang for someone who went to UNSW? (awaits jokes and horrible insults about UNSW students)

"the consensus view, as judged by the number of google hits, is that 2008 and will be colder than 2007"

They're just hedging their bets so that if it gets colder they can say, "see - we were right on with our trends" and if it turns out warmer - or even the same as 2007 - they can say, "Ooh... even warmer than we expected".

"I vote for an absent PM."

I second that! ;)

How people queue to hear him speak i don't know. I much rather watch paint dry on a desert island with GMB

I think Rudd has been a class act so far, FDB. Like any PM he ought to stay overseas as long as he can so that he doesn't get any ideas about governing.

"Rudd needs to be careful, he may well be on a tangent to nowhere (in sailing terms its “LTO” - lightning tack to oblivion).
I dunno how much face he lost with his “salute,” it could come back and haunt him.
Dontcha feel relaxed that the country is in his hands?"

What on Earth are you on about?
