And what a spiffy bit of gear it is, too.
That’s *NOT* what you’re supposed to be spending your scholarship on. Naughty [wags a reproachful finger].
Fortunately, all iTunes expenditures are tax deductible.
/they’re not? outrageous!
Godfrey! Maybe I should blame you… but yes, working internet, on the phone, with unlimited downloads *for free* is mightily impressive.
I figured out how to take pictures without the annoying “ca-chick” noise. MI5, eat your heart out.
Naughty Godfrey – they include that noise to stop men taking ‘upskirt’ pictures as it alerts all those around you that you’re taking a picture.
Yes, let’s talk about “exposure.” What about my privacy? I just want to take pictures without sirens going off and the photo police descending on my poor self, beating my brains out, ripping out my film (?), and cackling over the footage in their secret rum-negused bat-caves.
Godfrey, you’ll have to tell me how to do that – because AFAIC there are LOTS of useful things you could do with a silent camera. Upskirt=boring.
Ha.
Skep, I’d tell you, but then I’d be reported and “disappeared.”
…
What the hell. My phone is still in your merrie olde countrie, probably on some horse in Dorset, but I seem to remember that all I did was flip that switch on the side to put it in silent mode. Then taking pictures was quiet.
Either that, or I upgraded its software, and in the process, Apple rogered the filesystem so that the phone’s OS couldn’t locate the “ca-chick” sound file.
When it returns to me, encrusted with dried Guinness, I’ll have a look.
Heheheh. I won’t ask what you were doing in Dorset…
Ye shoulda waited. In a year it’ll be half the price and twice as good. Hard to resist tho’ innit.
I did wait for the 3G version, at least – I’ve got a policy of never buying the first version of anything. My iPod is 5th Gen, and the iPhone wasn’t worth having without fast internet and a decent plan.
I have the same policy. Unfortunately I didn’t keep to it when I bought my laptop for 6k. It costs 3 six months down the track. But it was too sexy.
We got tempted into buying a new video camera in Singapore because it just looked so sexy. Very silly really. But I guess it will be great when the new bub comes along.
I buy the good stuff and then use it until it falls completely apart and leaves me totally in crisis. At that point, buying another expensive new good sexy thing salves my shattered nerves and makes me mentally amortize the cost based on the previous example of long-standing use. Voila, rationalization potent enough to justify damn near anything.
Every time she polishes the damn thing I keep expecting a genie to appear.
