This is a bit awkward, but I figure a post is the best way to sort it.
I’ve currently got 9 ‘friend’ requests sitting on my Facebook page, a couple of which are from people with familiar names. Unfortunately, I can’t be sure they’re people I actually know, so they’ve been left in cyber-limbo for varying periods. A couple of extra requests came in yesterday. Of course I’ve ignored obvious spammers, nutters and randoms. I don’t, however, wish to place actual, you know, real people in the spam can or the permanent ‘ignore’ file.
At the same time, a good half-dozen others have written me a note telling me they’re regular readers of this site, and they’d like to make contact via Facebook. I’m more than happy to have friends who write a note in those circumstances, and you’re also welcome to join the ’skepticlawyer’ blog network, of which both Legal Eagle and I are registered owners.
So I’m sorry to all those people currently sitting on my ‘request’ page. I’d appreciate it enormously if you send me a message, so the Facebooking can happen without you thinking I’ve developed a serious case of the rudes.
