Given the lack of professionalism and integrity of the BBC in the way of ideological bias, they have got a lot more to be apologetic about than a wayward f word or two. The apology is so genteel, it makes you think of the days of the legendary Lord Reith when newsreaders on radio (yes,radio, you know, the wireless) had to wear dinner suits. I’m in the UK, so don’t see anything featuring medal-winners from countries other than the UK, but that doesn’t matter – the Brits have had their fair share of people bouncing around all over the place being real after winning. I just really liked Shaw’s reaction, it was so natural and unaffected – except the ‘watershed’ is taken very seriously over here so the Beeb apologised for her swearing.

The asterisks were in the original – I just brought them over from the Telegraph’s site. But yes, I probably would be wary of putting them on the front page. I couldn’t look at blogs with swearing in one of my old jobs – the company filter would block the page.

But sad that asterisks have to be used in the blog, I guess because of filters.
The net is becoming more nanny-ish than TV or the MSM.
