    May the best woman win…

    Hear hear.

Now all we need to do is find her. :)

Thoughts on Ms Palin. 40% of Americans adhere to fundamentalist Christian tenets. These include but are not limited to:

    1. The literal interpretation of The Book of Genesis, meaning:

    2. That the universe is 6000 years old and that Evolution is a crock of shit.

    3. That the World is heading toward Armaggedon and that this will kick off, (surprise) in the Middle East.

    4. That in this process Israeli will be destroyed and all those Jews who don’t convert will die.

    5. That they, meaning born-again Christians, will fly up in the Rapture and sit at the right hand of God watching the annihilation here on Earth. How nice of them.

Generally historical cycles point to declines of scientifically brilliant cultures by the imposition of canonical academia and the erosion of meritocracy amongst the intelligentsia (not to mention the rise of contempt for manual work among same).

Please see the rise of Platonic contemplation in Greece, the imposition of Christianity as the Roman state religion, the transition to the Ash’ari school of theology in the Islamic world.

Of course Americans seem to believe that their formerly excellent system of hands-on public education, their eminently (and fading) culture of reason is not the basis of what used to be called know-how.

    No.

It’s God. God loves America. God wants me to be rich. God’s got the latest surround sound systems in Heaven and Warner Bros movies are not allowed.

    Stupid fucking monkeys.

Everyone say hello to China the new centre of World Science. Please China, turn democratic. I need hope and I don’t think Obama’s got one.

Hmm, I’m getting the impression you might have slight reservations about the Republicans winning another term, Adrien. :)

Adrien - it is almost as silly in believing in 72 virgins being in heaven waiting for you as reward.

DEM - No. Whatever gave you that idea. Trouble is I’m not so sure I want Obama there either.

Maybe the States should do an Israel/Italy. Just install a fubaria type shitfight with 326 government every year. Seems to work for them. :) .

Do this. Install high levels of sexual repressiveness. Forbid people from even touching those of the opposite sex (thereby systematically stifling the empathatic inter-relationships between men and women). Make it a moral obligation to treat women with insane levels of suspicion.

And then promise to those willing to strap themselves with high explosives some pornographic fantasy notion of Heaven.

God’s own Truth or a colossal scam? You decide.

I don’t mind really. I just wish they’d move to the Moon. It’s a nice planet leave it alone. I saw some Mormons earlier today I felt like saying and askin’ ‘em: How does it feel to spend your lives following a rigid style of life laid down by a guy who, according to heaps of evidence, was a con-artist?

    But I didn’t.

Apparently there may have been a mistranslation, and they actually get 72 raisins. Might be a bit of a disappointment for new arrivals.
