I thought I was a bit of an arachnophobe, but clearly I’m not as bad as I thought, because I found this virtual spider quite endearing. You can pull it around by the leg or feed it.
I don’t know if my fear of spiders is getting better, or whether pregnancy hormones have just dulled my brain so much at this point that I’m not shocked by anything. Hmm, let’s envisage dragging around a virtual clown. No, let’s not. Clearly pregnancy hormones haven’t cured me of my intense coulrophobia. I must just be less afraid of spiders than I used to be?

Not a fan of Stephen King’s “It”, then?
NO. I couldn’t even look at the cover. But even innocuous clowns scare me. I rejected a chocolate ice-cream from the Peters Pal clown when I was five. It has to be a quite overwhelming fear which will make me lose my greed.
Just followed the link, and that spider is gross and somewhat disturbing. Though I only get the real ‘icks’ from invertebrates. Year nine camp in a rainforest full of leeches was my idea of hell.
My mother in law really hates snakes - she can deal with spiders. I’ve got another friend with a phobia of rats. You can see why (from an evolutionary perspective) we might dislike snakes, spiders, leeches and rats. But clowns?
Probably the same reason we’re suspicious of hoodies and balaclavas - the obviously concealed identity is suspicious.
