In light of recent discussions of what it is to be clever and different, here’s one video clip that — for mine — properly captures what it is to swim upstream as a girl. The lyrics are gender neutral (albeit cleverly done). The clip, however, is focussed on a single young women (although it also makes brilliant use of Prague’s Charles Bridge, and other atmospheric local landmarks).

Via a clever girl’s blog, I found this and this. I haven’t checked them out myself, but they look as if they’d be good.
I went to my daughter’s kinder on Friday – and was relieved to see that, although she’s fairly shy, she had a few friends to sit with – it’s such a fraught issue for girls.
