Bloggers AWOL

By skepticlawyer

Just a short apology for our collective absence of late, but I have returned from my London sojourn to an exploding in-tray, DEM is in the throes of designing a corporate calendar for a client, and Legal Eagle has pneumonia. Again. As one of those people who gets sick about once every three years and has never had anything remotely resembling asthma, I am at a bit of a loss as to how people with asthma manage it, especially when it requires things like nebulizers and pretty powerful drugs and so on.

Of course, I’m sure I’ll drop off the perch from a massive coronary, which is what killed both my parents and — so far as I’m aware — both sets of grandparents on both sides of the family. Neither parent made it anywhere near the Australian life expectancy, either, but I’m not sure very long periods of declining or ill-health are that great. Swings and roundabouts, etc.

So thusly informed, please bear a thought for LE’s chest and hope that she makes it through the two lots of three hour lectures she has to give this week. And, three hours? Who dreams this up? Two hours of law is bad enough, but three hour lectures must involve a hoarse lecturer and somnolent students. I like law and that would still send me to sleep.

Normal service will resume shortly.

    Oh dear.
    Asthma sucks.
    Because it can’t blow.
I suddenly developed it at age 42.

Sorry, I WILL be popping back and forth. Missed out on seeing Iain Duncan Smith speak in Edinburgh last night but I’ll find something else to b*tch about…

A three hour lecture in law. I must agree, I am a bit of a law geek and that would zombiefy me. Especially if it were trust accounting. I did actually nod off during one of those lectures.

Hope for a speedy recovery and success in endeavours for all.

Hey Legal Eagle, does that mean we don’t need to start praying for you again (yet)?

    (It worked last time).

OK LE, I have made generous donations of time to the gods of rugby league…
