It’s just occurred to me that most of our readers aren’t Facebook friends with one or another of us, so you have no idea what is going on or what we’re planning to do writing-wise for the rest of the year.
Legal Eagle is currently in Oxford where she’ll be teaching and researching for most of Hilary Term. She has paid flying visits to various people (including me) but will be in Oxford for the rest of her time in the UK. She is currently experiencing the usual Oxford ‘technical difficulties’ (ie, they’re flummoxed that you need anything other than the pigeon post, or perhaps a pony and trap, along with a candle to warm yourself by in the Bodleian). With any sort of luck, pictures will follow. Various real ales have emerged on Facebook so far.
I have just finished a Policy Brief for Reason, which I’ll let you all know more about in due course (ie, when it’s published). I was going to do a couple of blog posts once I had some free time, however that free time was taken up by a dose of norovirus. May I not recommend norovirus? It is ghastly, and there’s nothing you can go about it (not even go to the doctor or hospital, because you are ridiculously contagious). Let’s just say my size 10 (UK/Aus) jeans are now too big. Gah. I do have one pair of size 8 jeans, but they have 90s drainpipe legs and look ridiculous. So at the moment I am wandering around the house looking ridiculous (I voluntarily purchased these jeans at some point, too. What was I thinking?). And I go back to work on Monday.
Lorenzo has just moved house, but is now back in the blogging saddle. He is doing his usual trick of reading everything worth reading so that you don’t have to. Reports, of course, to follow.
DeusExMacintosh is worried about the shortage of laughs to be had at present, and was somewhat put off her humour game by the whole Sandy Hook business. At the moment I am trying to make sure she doesn’t get norovirus. Because it’s nasty.
We are also in the process of recruiting a couple of new writers. So watch this space, because we aim for quality.
