At the risk of sounding like I’m continuing a theme…
Lord Mandelson displays a gift for comic timing after being asked by Tory MP Peter Luff if he is Gordon Brown’s “Willie”.
Mr Luff, chairman of the Commons business committee, was referring to Margaret Thatcher’s famous comment about her deputy prime minister William Whitelaw – “every prime minister needs a Willie”.

Oh well, if this politics thing doesn’t work out, I’d suggest Lord Mandelson has a career in comedy…that really is very funny.
This whole post reminds me of the famous cricketing quote: “The bowler’s Holding, the batsman’s Willey” (allegedly said by cricket commentator Brian Johnston).
Ok, I can’t remember, which cartoonist did the calendar ? anyhow, artwork, of Prime Ministers and dick size? Some time back however had Malcolm Fraser threading a worm and Hawke with a mean weapon featured under a desk, from memory. And lessor types.
I thought it said more than a thousand pages.
Surely this was settled long ago, after The Economist’s columnist, Bagehot, asked in April 2007:
“Will Brown have Balls?
“Forget the deputy leadership election. Where Ed Balls goes is much more important […]”
