Break a leg!

By DeusExMacintosh

Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, has broken her left leg while hill-walking in Scotland, Clarence House has said. The duchess, 62, suffered a twisted fracture of her left fibula when she fell on Wednesday.

Clarence House said although doctors advised her not to put any weight on the leg, she would continue to carry out all her official engagements. Camilla had been staying at Birkhall, the Prince of Wales’ private home on the Queen’s Balmoral estate.

The break was confirmed following an x-ray on Thursday.

Prince Charles was at Balmoral on Wednesday but not with her at the time of the fall, which happened during their annual Easter break at the estate…

The Clarence House website says the couple “enjoy fishing and walking in the Scottish countryside and often undertake engagements in the local area”. But it would not disclose the exact location of the accident or the hospital where Camilla was treated.

In a statement, Clarence House said: “Yesterday while hill-walking in slippery conditions in Scotland, the Duchess of Cornwall took a tumble and hurt her leg. “Consequently her royal highness is wearing a plaster cast and will be for six weeks.”

The BBC’s royal correspondent, Nicholas Witchell, said Clarence House advised that this was “not a serious injury” although the duchess’s leg is fractured.

Did she fall, or was she pushed?

Ah yes, but they were playing the Great Houses of Europe Game ™ which always leads to things like this. I could start with the Julio-Claudians, follow up with the Borgias and the Hapsburgs and conclude with the Windsors. And include everyone in between.

You’re absolutely right, Legal Eagle… you’re definitely in the minority 😉

Personally, I think Charles’ revelation that he wanted to be her tampon is what turned me off my lunch.

Was never that big a fan of Lady Di though.

    Was she pushed?

    By whom? Why push her?

She is the only one in the whole Chilla-Di-Camilla entourage who has kept a dignified silence.

She was one helluva looker when she was younger, still has better legs than most ladies, and clearly loves Chilla.

Fleeced: The private conversations of Chilla aren’t any of our business.

Prince Chilla deserves some happiness after that axe-faced bimbo (Lady Di) he was forcibly tied up with for those years.

Top marks to Camilla for soldiering on despite the fracture. Falls at that age aren’t all that funny, she doesn’t bounce like she used to, isn’t as flexible as she once was, and plenty of lesser men & women of much younger age have allowed far less to be an excuse to take time off.

Steve, I agree he deserves some happiness but I wish he would not bother anyone else with his dopey ideas.

Australia really must become a republic before he becomes king.

Australia really must become a republic before he becomes king.

This sentiment extends beyond Australia, Ken. Lots of Brits love the Queen but have no idea what to do with Charles. I think a few of them are secretly hoping he falls off a polo pony somewhere so that William becomes king.
