Eiffel Tower struck by lightning

In case you wondered how the French could afford to keep it lit up all the time, now you know…

A lightning bolt appears to strike the iconic Eiffel Tower while the Paris landmark is seen illuminated in vibrant blue lights. Amateur photographer Bertrand Kulik captured the shot which will appear in an exhibition titled “Lumieres celestes, lumieres des hommes”, in Issy L’eveque, Burgundy, was taken in July last year during a storm in the French capital

Just thought I’d make this the weekend chit-chat thread; I haven’t got anything to match it, really — whatever I put up is going to look pretty second hand, to be honest.

Feel free to drop links, chat to your heart’s content etc etc.

An open thread: where one can weave a patchwork quilt of woolly thoughts; perhaps wittily knitting a hitherto disconnected skein of ideas and observations; or just cotton onto a single thought to spin a yarn, to string us along – ever mindful of LE’s injunction: no needless needling.

Thus far, dare I suggest: threadbare 😉
